THE ASHES WERE HELD ON 22nd APRIL 2012.

After a very blustery afternoon with very heavy showers—in fact everything but snow – the ASHES were claimed by Bath, albeit by a narrow margin.

A Buffet tea was then enjoyed in the clubhouse.   Many thanks are due to the CA members who helped with all the aspects of this event and bravely battled the elements to defend the Trophy.

The Easter Bunny Shoot was a huge success, despite a rather damp and blustery day.

Shooting was on all 28 targets with Awards in all categories.

Gordon Day very kindly donated two new trophies, awarded to the highest score at the Easter Bunny Shoot for The President`s Ladies Compound and The President`s Gents Compound.     These were awarded for the first time to Clare Wakeley of Cheltenham Archers and Andy Wilkes of Evesham Archers.

A National Record Status was claimed by Reuben Kingston for a Short Junior National, Barebow, with a score of 492.

Many thanks are due to all the CA members who helped with the event, which resulted in a cheque for £400.00 being presented to Help for Heroes.

April 2012 - MAY WE DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO THE NEW/CURRENT DRESS CODE REGS!!!!!!     See  GNAS rules for link

CONGRATULATIONS to CA Member Ashe Morgan who has gained a  place on Great Britain Team

After an exciting Selection Shoot held at  Lilleshall National Sports Centre Ashe Morgan secured his place on the Team which will represent GB at two International events this year. Next month Ashe will fly out to Porec, Croatia to complete in the 1st leg of the Junior Europa Cup. This will be followed by the European Junior Championships which take place in Nykobing, Denmark in July.                                 AN    OLYMPIC    OPPORTUNITY

We have been given the chance to run an Archery "Have a Go" session at the London 2012 Torch Relay Community Festival: Cheltenham Racecourse 23rd May.

The event will take place from 4 to 9pm at the Cheltenham racecourse.  Gates will open to the public about 3:30pm and the Torch Arrival ceremony is scheduled for about 6-7:30pm. During this period no other activity should take place. The community festival will then continue until 9:00pm.

We need as many bodies as possible to help run this session. If you feel that you could help out for all or some of the time please contact me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE with some idea of the time you will be available.

Lets make it a great advert for Cheltenham Archers.
